National test of Emergency Alerts will take place at 3pm on Sunday 23 April.
Although the Government say they have worked together with the emergency services and partners, including the Football Association and London Marathon, to make sure the national test has minimum impact on major events taking place on the day, it can prove to be very distracting, if you are driving a motor vehicle (Taxi) when this test take place.
The alerts are designed to notify the public of life-threatening emergencies, but there are cases where the test could expose hidden mobile phones and put people at risk of domestic abuse or put others in danger.
Anyone not willing to take part in this ill-conceived test, should turn off emergency alerts on their 4G/5G phones.
In my opinion, it’s better to be safe than sorry!
How to Turn Off Emergency Alerts on iPhone
1. Open the Settings app.
2. Scroll down and tap on Notifications.
3. Scroll to the bottom of the screen, where you'll see the heading Emergency Alerts.

Other phones such as Motorola, Galaxy and Goggle maybe slightly different.

𝐓𝐀𝐗𝐈 𝐋𝐄𝐀𝐊𝐒 𝐄𝐗𝐓𝐑𝐀 𝐁𝐈𝐓:
It’s bad enough that we, as professional drivers, have to regularly take our eyes off the road ahead to insure we are not exceeding the ridiculously low 20mph limit, we are now going to be distracted by an extreme emergency alert!
It will be interesting to see if the Government has found a way of bypassing the settings on our phones… so even if you’ve turn off the alerts in settings, be very careful if you are driving on the 23rd at 3pm.
🚨⏰🚨
Earlier this week, in the US state of Florida, an Emergency Alarm was triggered at quarter to five in the morning, waking up residents across the state, who were puzzled by what had happened as there had been no warning.
Later in the day, the powers that be had to apologise to everyone in the state, saying the alarm was set off by accident.
Reports in the media said that even phones that had been switched off, turn themselves on and gave out the alarm.
