FairFuelUK has written to Director-General Tim Davie citing cases where hosts — including cyclist Jeremy Vine (paid almost £750k a year from your licence fee)— have been anti-car/taxi/van on air.
BBC presenters, including keen cyclist Jeremy Vine, have been accused of showing bias against car, taxi and van drivers.
It claims: “The driver’s standpoint is always either ignored or commonly they are described or implied as the source of all environmental ills.”
In a poll for the group, 66 per cent of drivers said the BBC’s reporting on motoring issues is “poor and unbalanced”.
FairFuelUK chief Howard Cox said the corporation “is biased in favour of the well-financed green environmental position”.
The letter says that one reporter ended his report on cycle lanes saying: “If many more people cycled, it will cut congestion, improve air quality and our health as we peddle along.”
Another reporter also said Boris Johnson’s ban on new petrol and diesel cars was the most “welcomed policy” in his environmental reporting career, which the group say was biased.
The letter adds: “We are not asking for an over emphasis of issues that impact on drivers.

“Just balance and fair coverage compared to the continual demonisation of diesel and petrol by biased BBC news staff.
“All drivers want to breathe clean air, but the BBC does not convey that honest position.”
A BBC spokesman said: “We have not yet received this letter. The BBC reports with due impartiality and features a wide range of views.”
TAXI LEAKS EXTRA BIT:
A serving police officer with Greater Manchester Police, FAROOQ AHMED has been jailed for 'two years' for sexually abusing a young girl of primary school age on three occasions
Bet the BBC won’t remember his name in 14 years like they do a certain Taxi Driver from Bermondsey.
