London's Taxi Drivers could be owed hundreds of pounds in parking fine refunds as landmark ruling finds that Sadiq Khan's TfL 'broke the law' by using CCTV footage rather than traffic wardens.

𝐓𝐀𝐗𝐈 𝐋𝐄𝐀𝐊𝐒 𝐄𝐗𝐓𝐑𝐀 𝐁𝐈𝐓:
I got this email today from Parking ticket expert Barry Segal (Author of "Barrie Segal's Quick Guide To Fight Your Parking Tickets"):

Dear James
Parking adjudicators have decicided that it is illegal for Transport for London to use CCTV to issue parking tickets in red route bays!

However, it is legal for TFL to issue parking tickets in these bays if they are issued by a civil enforcement officer (parking attendant).

If you or anyone you know has been issued with a parking ticket via CCTV for ticket for allegedly parking in a red route bay please ask them to email me at:redroutebays@appealnow.com and I will help draft an appeal.  I personally have already won cases at the adjudicator where CCTV has been used to issue parking tickets in red route bays.

Drive safely and keep well and safe.
Yours sincerely
Barrie Segal.

Late Extra Bit:
I’m told that TfL are hanging on for dear life and now want a JR.
They can’t accept what the adjudicators are saying.

If you have received a TfL PCN issued by CCTV, for being stopped in any part of a red route, you must appeal, as at present, it is illegal for TfL to issue PCNs in this way.

TfL issued 214,632 bay PCNs in the 12 months to June 2023, totalling £17 million if all paid at the discounted rate.
Let that sink in for a bit.

Also if you’ve paid a TfL PCN issued by CCTV in the past, keep an eye out for a group that will be shortly taking out a class action against TfL for full refunds and possible compensation.
