Possibly the worst kept secret, ever.

You don’t lay out £200m on cameras and scrappage to catch out a few old cars.

GAME OVER, MOTORISTS - TFL recruiting Road User Charging Operatives

At present, Taxis are exempt from ULEZ. But when he brings in ‘Road User Charging, pay per mile’, that could all change.

Why do you think the mayor (who didn’t want a car-led recovery) is allowing TfL to pass out on average 400 new PH drivers a week?

When asked in the London assembly by Cllr Susan Hall, if ULEZ fails, what is your plan B, what are you going to do with all the cameras you’ve already bought?….he wouldn’t answer.

But ULEZ was never his plan A…the plan was always to sneak in ‘Road User Charging/pay per mile’ early (scheduled for 2025/6), which was always his plan A.
