But, you can arrange all the protests and demos you like…. unfortunately the trades drivers and most of the orgs and unions will just let you down time and time again.

Protests (they will say) are too early….too late….in the wrong place….it will be one excuse after another.

Then there will be those who will say, I’m not protesting it’s too busy…I can’t afford to demo…it’s not my org that have organised it so I won’t be there…and continue to spout "demos don’t work!".

The orgs and unions won’t unite to protest because if successful they would have to share the glory, and they will want all the glory.

We had a great chance to stop these ridicules road changes but the drivers and orgs en masse, let the 240 odd regular protesters down.

The leader of our largest representative group, even wrote an email to Mike Brown apologising for disruption, calling the protesters loonies.

We've had the wait and see campaign from one org!

We’ve had the Jarndyce verses Jarndyce court cases… from another org.

We’ve seen massive fragmentation of a trade full of football supporter mentality, with orgs bent on destroying each other…and massive complacency from drivers who continued to work through 6 months of demos……

One of Taxi Leaks main contributors (Semtex) said years ago, "When it comes to the final battle for survival, all the leaders will have left the battlefield through lack of support from the rank and file.

𝐓𝐀𝐗𝐈 𝐋𝐄𝐀𝐊𝐒 𝐄𝐗𝐓𝐑𝐀 𝐁𝐈𝐓:

Established Taxi apps have now partnered with private hire operators, to produce one tier service apps.

You couldn’t make it up!

But worst of all, drivers are willingly working these scab apps (because they are busy).

Recently we’ve seen the introduction of new, Licensed Taxi only apps and the amount of stick they’ve received on social media, is unbelievable.

One thing the trade and its representative orgs and unions should never have accepted without a fight, is the closed shop, now operating at London's Heathrow Airport.

No stomach for a fight from the drivers who regularly work the airport….who believe a restricted permit system, will mean less waiting times and more work for the few!

Only the few can pay to go through the feeder, but everyone is expected to pay to drop off at the terminals.
