🟦 The Department for Transport admitted that its support for Low Traffic Neighbourhood schemes was based on “incorrect” data, back in January 2021.

To be honest, it didn’t take a genius to work out that Mayors and local councils were at best massaging statistics and at worst introducing fake statistics. You only had to examine the stats put forward by Sadiq Khan and Will Norman, to see that something wasn’t right !!!

Back in 2021, the DFT made the statement:

“Where they have been introduced, LTNs have resulted in displacement of traffic from some roads to others, detours, longer journey times, delays to emergency services, additional costs to local residents and businesses and considerable costs to local and national taxpayers”.

TAXI LEAKS EXTRA BIT:

If they knew this back in 2021 and they also knew these measure where putting lives at risk, causing even more congestion and pollution, ruining local businesses….

Why haven’t they demanded their removal?

But then we’ve always known, it’s not about safer streets or better air quality…. It’s all about the money from fines.

If these schemes true purpose is to raise revenue in the form of fines from traffic violations, then expect more.
