I’m being told that TfLTPH are still telling drivers (again) that they can’t work if their licence expires while waiting for a renewal!!! See image 1.

How many times have I posted the article showing Leon Daniels admitting I was right when I wrote to sir Peter Hendy explaining the transport act 1985 sec 17 subsection 7 ???? See images 2 & 3.

The act clearly states, if you’ve submitted a full application and DBS you can carry on working until you receive your renewal no matter how long it takes…see image 4

I myself carried on working for three months on an expired licence, waiting for my renewal, because of the total inadequacy of TfLTPH.

The transport act 1938 sec17(7) only applies to London Licensed Taxi drivers.

TAXI LEAKS EXTRA BIT:

Why are they again telling drivers they can’t work ?

Why haven’t all the orgs and unions sorted this out?

Is it because it’s a great recruiting tool where if you need help over this, you have to be in an Org or union.

This is scandalous and should have been put to bed when I got Daniels email in 2014 ( which I still have)

8 years and drivers are losing work waiting for renewals, it’s not right.

But another problem is, cab rentals have asked TfL if drivers can work and TfL have told them no (this is wrong)

Drivers are having cabs snatched back and can’t rent new cabs till they get their new bill.

It needs sorting now, not soon, later or next month, it needs sorting now

If you’ve lost work due to this false statement from TfL, you should consider getting together and suing TfL for loss of earnings.

Interesting that also I read somewhere that the grant of license fee need only be paid at the time of receiving the licence.

By not supplying a driver with same at the time of making such payment would mean that the licence regulater{TFL} are committing a hackney carriage offence?
