Sadiq Khan is booed on stage at the NME Awards after the strikes ravaging London

Sadiq Khan booed at the NME Awards the night before Tube strikes

'People need to get to work Sadiq, do you understand?': Grime stars turn on 'Prince of Perks' Sadiq Khan as he is BOOED during freebie at NME Awards... on the eve of ANOTHER Tube strike

Under-pressure Mayor of London was last night booed over the Tube strikes on his latest freebie as stars told him 'People need to get to work, do you understand?'.

Mr Khan, who is chair of TfL, was heckled as he took to the stage, over the chaos happening under his watch this week on the transport network.

His attendance prompted utter disbelief from commuters, who questioned why he had chosen to rub shoulders with celebrities, when he could have been negotiating with striking union bosses.

Around 10,000 members of the Rail, Maritime and Transport union have walked out and stopped working today, in a row over jobs, pensions and conditions.

Sadiq Khan promised 'zero days of strikes' when he ran for Mayor.

He has now over taken the number of strikes under the previous two mayors.
