The streetspace plan and guidance was so far reaching (and blatantly not temporary) that the judgment was quashed and considered ‘unlawful’.
However, schemes will not be ripped up because TfL - unbelievably - plan to appeal.
TfL has already called an urgent meeting with all thirty three of the capital’s authorities’ lawyers and transport bosses and urged them to take legal advice about implications the judgement has on their road closures.
The document stresses the importance of the need to consider disabled people. It emphasises how impact assessments must record - in appropriate detail - the risks associated with those protected under the Equalities Act.
It just goes to show the enormous role TfL and the mayor play in the borough councils local implementation plans.
