Pedestrian Pensioner In Critical Condition After Being Mowed Down By Speeding Cyclist

So much for Local Council #Saferstreets scheme. Vehicles excluded from through routes and on main raids speed limits reduced to 20MPH.

Meanwhile cyclist on the Stava app, trying to break their personal best time, are bombing about putting pedestrians in high danger.

Yesterday evening, a pensioner aged in his 70s has been left in a critical condition in hospital after a hit and run in Bow, east-London.

The man - a pedestrian, was involved in a collision with a speeding cyclist on Bow Road, E3, in the early evening. The pensioner was hit by the cyclist who jumped a red signal on the pedestrian crossing.

The rider of the bike then fled the scene, without checking to see if the pensioner was ok.

Met Police say at 5:05pm they were called Bow Road, E3, near to Thames Magistrates Court, to reports of a collision.

Enquires to locate the cyclist are ongoing, with police appealing to drivers who were in the area at that time to check dash cam footage that may have recorded the collision.

If you have any footage of the collision, please contact the Met Police, DM open on Twitter @999London, or use their what’s app feed 447534611553.

TAXI LEAKS EXTRA BIT:
New restrictions on Park Lane with the completely unnecessary road restrictions is causing gridlock on Knightsbridge, Grosvenor Place and Park Lane.

Gridlock that is causing pollution through near stationary traffics exhaust fumes.

Well done Sadiq Khan, Heidi Alexander, Westminster Council and TfL, who are adding to the premature deaths caused by poor air quality.

But then, this has never been about safety, it’s again all about money.
On June 24th TfL owned Santander cycles had a record day, with 51,938 hires in 24 hours.
Also in Camden, we’ve seen councillors with commercial financial interests in cycle hire and cargo bikes, bringing in schemes that are restricting vehicles in favour of cycles.
