Ubers Andrew Brem has been blowing smoke up Sadiq Khan's arse today saying, ULEZ should be in every UK city.
Well he would say this wouldn’t he. It helps to grow his business, while ordinary people, who can’t afford to upgrade their vehicle, have their freedom of movement restricted.
Plus let’s not forget that TfL have been pushing out new PH vehicle licenses by the hundreds every week. So his support is no more than a big thank you to Khan and TfL.
This statement appeared in the Telegraph today saying:
Sadiq Khan’s Ulez should be expanded to cities across the UK, Uber has said, as it races to make all its cars fully electric in two years’ time.
With close to 50,000 Uber cars on the road in London, how long do you think it will be before Taxi only charging points are relabelled Taxi and Private Hire only?
Will we then see Bus Lanes relabelled Buses, e-Taxi, e-PHV and cycles only?
After his lies about the amount of people who have died in London because of poor air quality (he said 4000 a year which turned out to be just one in 20 years), Khan has been all over his social media platforms, saying:
Time is running out.
The climate crisis is real and urgent, with devastating consequences for the health of our citizens and planet.
Our Govt has the power to act. They must not delay.
𝐓𝐀𝐗𝐈 𝐋𝐄𝐀𝐊𝐒 𝐄𝐗𝐓𝐑𝐀 𝐁𝐈𝐓:
As part of his fight against climate change, Khan has given £39,154 in funding from City Hall to create a habitat for beavers in Paradise Fields in Greenford.
He’s also giving £1m of our money on Rewilding Day, reaffirming his support for restoring London’s natural habitats.
