TfL regularly post on Twitter, exclaiming that hand held credit card machines are not authorised and that Taxi drivers can’t use them (even as a back up system)
This is what they posted today:

If your fitted and approved system packs up, you have to immediately stop work and can not work again until your system has been fixed.
Most every business in the high street uses hand held machines.
Surely this is a restricted practise from TfL.
๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐:
Amazingly, there is no such restriction for PH vehicles who can freely use hand held devises without any comment from TfL.
Again this is wrong and should have been fought by every Org and union that represent Taxi drivers.
Let’s not forget, as the mandate for acceptance was first introduce the CEO of world pay was installed on the board of TfL.
