London Mayor Sadiq Khan says he’s cleaned up central London with the ULEZ zone, and that he now needs to concentrate cleaning up the toxic air in outer London

Our research on the Breezometer app, which uses the DAQ index (UK), shows a completely different picture, in fact outer London’s air is cleaner than the air inside Khan’s ULEZ zone. 

The Daily Air Quality Index (DAQI) tells you about levels of air pollution and provides recommended actions and health advice. 

The index is numbered 1-10 and divided into four bands, low (1) to very high (10), to provide detail about air pollution levels in a simple way, similar to the sun index or pollen index.
