New Highway Code rules state that cyclist have priority over all other vehicles on the roads and suggest they don’t have to use the segregated cycle lanes and that they should ride in the middle of the road. 

It states that vehicles must slow down and give them plenty of room. 

But what the cyclists are ignoring is that the new rules give pedestrian’s priority over all road users. 

Cyclist are currently ignoring this and there have already been a number of accidents. Mainly because the cyclists are not looking where they are going, with some busying themselves taking selfies or trying to video motor vehicles. 

But as cyclists are currently not required to have insurance, what recompense is there for pedestrians who get injured?

Our advice is that the pedestrians should sue TfL, local councils and the Mayors office who are ultimately responsible for letting the situation occur. 

Don’t waste your time trying to sue a cyclist, go straight to the people that have allowed this situation to take place.

There is now no need whatsoever for these dangerous cycle lanes and they should be scrapped ASAP to help traffic to start to flow again.
