In light of tragic events of the Sarah Everard case, I’ve been looking at a new security app (Hollie Guard). It’s a smartphone app, not just for kids, but for all Vulnerable people who (when activated) can be tracked, to make sure they are safe.
If the person using the app feels threatened, they can double tap the screen and a message is sent (along with a GPS position) to a nominated guardian.
I have checked this app on a fact finding site and have had it confirmed genuine and not a scam. It’s also been recommended by police authorities across the country.
There are two versions:
The free version, you have to nominate a guardian, who will receive messages should an emergence arise.
The professional version (£79.99 a year, which can also be paid monthly £7.99) is monitored by professional security personnel.
Personally, I think it’s brilliant, one of the best security apps ever, designed as added protection not only children but all vulnerable people.
Have a watch of this short video, broadcast on Crime Watch earlier this week, it explains every thing about how the app works.
Please use the comment section to discuss how you feel about Hollie Guard.
