NSL Inspection Centres To Remain Open Until Further Notice, Say TfL. MOT Garages Classed As Essential Businesses

TFL have announced this morning that until further notice, the Taxi passing stations at NSL are to remain open.

They stated that they are reviewing the latest government guidelines with regards to the national lockdown, and will be issuing a TfL notice shortly which will highlight any changes being introduced. If there are any changes to the system then the trade will be informed.

However, they say they haven’t currently identified anything at the moment that would require the inspection stations to be closed.

They also stated that drivers who currently have scheduled appointments, should still attend.

We have already been informed that MOT garages will continue to operate as they have been categorised as essential.

Information came from third party as TfL refused to answer any on my communications.

TAXI LEAKS EXTRA BIT:

As editor of a Taxi news blog, I wanted to put out a statement to drivers last night, so everyone knew where they stood.

Unfortunately TfL have treated my tweets and emails with the greatest disrespect and again have failed to answer a single one.

The biggest insult from TfLTPH was when I first asked on my personal Twitter account, the question:

Will the inspection stations at NSL be remaining open ?... a simple question that basically requires a simple yes or no answer.

But TfLTPH ignored my question, but then answered a comment on my question from another driver!

This isn’t the first time TfL have ignored questions from me, early last year I made a complaint about TfL supplying a third party website, with information about every London Taxi driver, which I believe is in breach of the data protection act.

I sent emails to a number of different managers and directors at TfLTPH and other than the standard reply (thank you for contacting TfL we will get back to you within 5 working days) I still haven’t received one single reply. It’s now been over 18 months since I first made the first complaint.

They have also on numerous occasions passed on my licence and contact details third party companies asking me to fill out surveys. I have informed TfL on numerous occasions that i do not give them my permission for them to do this....which they obviously have repeatedly ignored.

It doesn’t end there. When I made my application for my licence renewal, the treatment I received unacceptable...I won’t go into details her but it took over six months for a simple licence renewal.

My last medical, although my doctor said I’d passed all the tests, hit problem after problem. TfL insisted on me having an eye test at an opticians, then complained that the optician hadn’t filled in their form correctly.

They also asked for DVLA confirmation of my driving licence renewal, which had nationally been extended for 11 months by the DVLA. I sent them the code and they failed to use it, instead asking for another code two months later.....and so on it goes.

This can’t go on, I will now be contacting the new commissioner of TfL Andy Byford through my legal representative, complaining about the harassment I’ve been receiving from TfLTPH.

As the situation stands at the moment:
