Uber Relicensed....British Justice, The Best Money Can Buy

Uber found to be fit and proper🤷‍♂️
Corruption of the highest order???

No other Private Hire operator would have survived the thousands of complaints of rape, sexual assault, fake drivers, 13,000 fake DBS checks (swept under TfL’s carpet), fraud, hacked accounts,

Although widespread throughout their drivers, Uber were convicted only twice, of allowing uninsured drivers to carry on working.

TfL knew this when they agreed to renew the license for 3 months in November 2019.

Just two Uber drivers, managed to undertake 1400 uninsured trips between them.

TfL should be hanging their heads in shame.
(They walk away being awarded £345k by the court)

Would Ernie’s Cars in station road still be licensed if they had uninsured drivers, conviction for fraud, customer account hacking, turned a blind eye to passengers being raped and sexually assaulted by drivers, turned a blind eye to drivers with fake IDs, fake medicals and DBS criminal record check certificates ??? Ernie would be back working for the council emptying wheelie bins...

But then, Ernie doesn’t have the billions that Uber have.

Judgement :

1. Judge agrees that 18 months is a sensible length.

2. Great benefits to licensed conditions.

3. All parties have agreed costs awarded to TfL of £375k.

TfL and Uber both happy bunnies now, (I bet they are) same charade as last time, and we will all in 2 years time to hear Uber’s next appeal.

Going on today’s judgement it’s almost impossible for a PH operator to lose its licence.

And yet it’s the easiest thing in the world for a London Taxi driver to have their licence revoked.

A massive thank you to Lee again at @CabvisionTaxi, for covering the Uber case today.
