This would solve the KOL figure mystery, cut emissions & congestion and help bring back into London a proper two tier system.
Commissioner Mike Brown said he could not possibly respond.
Below is the statement put out by Grant Davis on social media earlier today
LCDC STATEMENT:
Yesterday we met with the TFL Commissioner and Heidi Alexander, who holds the post of Dep Mayor for Transport.
We already had an agenda which we had to stick to for time restraints but there was an update on bus lane access for taxis which included -
Terminus place
Shorter St
Greenwich bus garage at 02 & Blackwell Tunnel
Elephant & Castle
Tower Hill
Theobalds Rd / Vernon Pl
(Grant said that they were waiting for a confirmation email from TfL about the bus lane updates)
On a positive note the Commissioner agreed with the Club regarding PH signage, this included the removal of tinted windows in PH, a sticker in back side window on how to make a complaint to TFL over the driver.
Also the Commissioner & Heidi agreed that they are talking to the apps regarding upgrades to how they are signed into by driver.
The Trade put proposals for biometric & facial recognition for PH drivers to log on.
Also I put it to both Commissioner Brown and Heidi that the hypocrisy surrounding the latest ViaVan roll out by TFL where they use the same engine as us!!
Mike Brown said he had been informed their engines were cleaner and NOT the same?
I informed him I had taken pictures of ViaVan vehicles in Sutton, passed them over to Mercedes and guess what...... yes, the same!
The Commissioner asked me to provide him with my evidence, so let’s see.
We spoke about the KOL figures and he asked what can be done to help?
I slowly slid him across the table the story of UBER being found guilty in court two weeks ago and asked him if he had seen it?
He replied, he had and I then said to him that TFL should not even consider renewing their probationary license and shut them down.
This would solve the KOL figure mystery, cut emissions & congestion and help bring back into London a proper two tier system.
He said “he couldn’t possibly respond”.
We ran out of time and therefore could not hold any ‘any other business’ discussions.

So you asked about the knowledge to mr brown and he’s asked you what can be done lol do you really think he is interested a little bird has told be that the examiners are going to all go part time as there is not many people left doing it 70% drop out do the maths
No matter what happens Uber will be relicensed because Tfl need their money.
Now there is Bolt, if Uber go most drivers will just work for Bolt (Formely Taxify)
Over time there will be more Uber ttype apps.
Mike bug eyed Brown does has he's told.
A maggot feeding off the backs
of hard working people.
Should be dealt with.
The reason tfl are being "coy" about the Mercedes vito van bus and our vito taxi is simple...
The London emission blueprint is to exclude 'all' fossil fueled vehicles from London ULEZ by 2033, and as they are convinced the bus company will renew its stock over to electric well within that period they won't be affected.
The London taxi trade however, will not remove a vehicle shorter than it is legally necessary because of both costs or suitable transition being available, tfl know only too well how impacting their new 12 year limit will be to our trade and as both the euro 6 diesel and the current levc electric have a 15 year limit the 2033 deadline set by tfl will be exceeded if they re-introduce a euro 6 taxi,(even though they are selling a petrol range extender in the electric vehicle) and nobody could or would afford to buy a 12 year taxi euro 6 version now.
I have said it until I am blue in the face, TFL must remove the age limit from all electric taxis now, this will both encourage sales 'and' remove the drivers purchasing age from the scenario because he could sell on a used "freehold" cab on retiring plus as soon as all electric vehicles are availble no driver will want a diesel cab anyway and they will be shunned by the drivers.
If I was sellling the rlectric cab and wanted to get a rush on buying electric taxis surely removing the agelimit from them would be the first thing i would do....so why haven't they?....
I am very worried that the current electric drivers are going to be shafted by age limits yet again some time soon, tell me im wrong?
Be lucky

Couldn't possibly respond,,,,,,i bet he couldn't,& run out of time,,,,lucky that??
No one knows how long the TXE is gonna last anyway.......12 years + is a bit optomistic in my opinion anyway ?
Never mind the knowledge, via van, biometrics for minicab drivers or even the s***bag app company. The main & biggest threat to the licensed taxi trade and its existence is the 12 year age limit. Although, I know the other items are important and many others have made this conclusion a long time before me, it's just hit me how important it is. The reason being that I've just been talking to a friend, who told me the situation with one garage. This garage is going to have to lose, OVER FORTY, yes, over 40, taxis from this fleet and therefore, this will have a massive impact upon drivers - particularly, those at the upper end of the age scale. These drivers were told and basically promised, by the authorities, they would be able to access a taxi for 15 years from the time it was announced. And now this has been reneged on and must surely be within the boundaries to have a legal challenge. After all, what other industry could suffer this or more to the point would even consider accepting it! Wake up everyone, the Grim Reaper is sharpening his scythe!
I remember thinking at the time minicabs were going to be licensed. That was going to be bad for the taxi trade. I didn’t do 3yrs on the knowledge for a level playing field, others talk about. I can’t think of any drivers, that would sign up to the knowledge in today’s climate, or encourage a family member or friend to have a go at it. Absolute waste of time and money.
You can go to any number of meetings you can get, with the greasy, nasty, top scum at TfL. Surely the answers they have and haven’t given, to any of the questions, have actually given the trade the answers. So, unless the drivers want to repeatedly glue up London, without notice, or find another disruptive way of fighting back. It’s all begging bowl stuff.

You have it nailed on, its the hierachy that needs changing not the working man but the trade whistles dixey.
The txe has an all aluminium body and a very replaceable cheaper electric motor plus the present batteries will get better and longer range as time goes by, the newer batteries of today will run double the ones originally fitted to the first txe but until contracts expire thats what they will fit.
I bought new Fx4's and faiways and before boris turned up mayor tx1 wihout a taxi age limit, so no prises which taxi will best see out a 20 year jaunt .... the new Txe, as its built to last (batteries excepted)
The whole thing stinks! 1 1/2 hours allocated for a meeting weighted with TFL personel, cannot discuss much in that time. Would be interesting to know what McNamara brought to the table.
The app is where they want you to be using technology that can follow your every move and link you straight in to HMRC. No street work and airports and stations worked on telematics and number plate recognition there will be no hiding place.
Interesting no answer on knowledge numbers, the age limit of the cabs is bringing things into sharp focus my understanding (i could be wrong) from Novenber 53/04/54/05/55/06/ plates will be coming off followed by a progressive step down add this to the decommisioned cabs then very quickly stating the obvious there are few older cabs available thus due to the expense to earnings ratio will force particularly older drivers part timers and suburbans to consider their position.
Taking the numbers supplied by GreenBadge John on a previous post it appears most drivers are over 50, this demographic could lead to a significant exodus if there is minimal new entrants no critical mass then game set and match.
Even allowing for a 15 year age limit, 1) who can be sure if TXE are up to it,2) as technology moves forward will a petrrol range extender still be valid if not values drop off a cliff and where are you then.
I suppose all you can do is what the LTDA say 'wait and see'
Do you really think that if Uber looses its license that people will start to do the knowledge think about it the knowledge has been made redundant due to TfL allowing an unregulated app that can do as it pleases having drivers who have no idea what road rules are and course mayhem on our roads the knowledge is well and truly game over
