TfL's Woeful Inadequacies Partially Responsible For Our Exclusion From Bank Junction...by Sean Paul Day.

This type of accident, should not be recorded as Taxi and Private hire.

A document from Camden's Lawyers' to the LTDA re: Tottenham Court Road taxi exclusion, has made grave reading.

Camden did consider the inclusion of taxis in their redevelopment scheme, but their research data showed taxis as the main cause of serious accidents in the area

When the findings were challenged, Camden produced evidence that they had exhausted all avenues and could not locate data that identified taxis from PH.

The same is true of the Corperation of the City of London planners.

So, as of now, we are considered the most dangerous vehicle on the road -because of THEM.
Whether Camden or the CoL wanted us or not isn't relevant, at least let us know the real reason for exclusion!

TfL's woeful inadequacies to blame:
I cannot stress enough the importance of this.
Years of TFL blurring the boundaries between taxis and PH, plus actively recruiting staff to big up so called similarities (as opposed to highlighting differences) has left the trade wide open to this type of assault.

We remain the only legitimate alternative to the minicab swamp that swills around us, and the public NEED to know that there is an option. And just how safe that option is!

First and foremost, we should to be recognised by officialdom for what we are, and that is, Londons safest transport choice in London!

Sean Paul Day.

Every serious RTA is recorded, it will
Identify vehicle type, if thy haven't done that simple
Step The whole process is fundamentally flawed and will not withstand a challenge

Spot on Sean. Why are the LTDA not highlighting this issue to TFL?

how on earth did we & the ORGS, ever allow us, to be classed jointly under the same umbrella & licenced by, the same cretins, as PH?

that was the start of the authorities realising that, they could do what they liked and the beginning of our woes, which are now escalating, with us being attacked, in so many different ways, on so very many fronts

Do you ever get the feeling that the London cab trade is becoming the patsy responsible for the short coming of the various agencies that control us.Everyday almost on a hourly basis we read, see or experience something that threatens, undermines or demonises our trade. This insidious process, now has gathered serious momentum that has placed our noble trade on the ropes. This begs the question why? What have we done to deserve this,we have always played the game,we had to,that was the deal 1.do the knowledge 2.drive the required vehicle 3.do as you are told then and only then would you be granted the sole right to ply for hire.To preserve this right we would have to accept and foot the bill for every test or initiative thrown at us.We changed our cabs for wheelchair access,we fitted a eco friendly exhaust system costing up to £3000 only to be told later that it was virtually useless,we were told to fit a receipt machine to prevent passengers fiddling there expenses thus becoming a policeman for the revenue,we were forced to take credit cards and then told wich machines to get,for years we were required to subject our cabs annually to one of the most exhaustive and thorough tests a vehicle can go through, only to be told, that for reasons that were never made clear this test would now take place twice a year. This was eventually suspended only to be replaced with the original test plus two Mot? Increasenly expensive cabs were purchased hoping to comply with emission standards only to be told they would be redundant after 15 years. At ever twist and turn we have complied whith what was required, and for what!only to be discarded like a mechanics used oily rag. This situation obviously suits the aspirations of those who wish to obliterate us from the face of London, but why we can only speculate about their motives or guess their agenda But maybe the answer lies with the question posed to Deep Throat in the Water gate scandal. When asked by the journalists Woodward and Bernstein the why, where, who and what he replied Follow the Money
