Police Appeal For Witnesses After Horrendous Attack On Young Women in New Oxford Street.

Police are appealing for witnesses after a young woman was attacked in central London. On Sunday 1 September 2013 at approximately 03.30hrs, a 22-year-old woman suffered serious facial injuries after an unprovoked assault.

The attack took place in New Oxford Street at the junction with Bainbridge Street outside Centre Point. The woman, who was with a female friend at the time, was attacked by three men who ran off towards Tottenham Court Road. 

All three men are black - there is no further description at present.

The woman was taken to a central London hospital where she is being treated for her injuries, which are described as potentially life-changing.

Police are keen to speak to anyone who may have been in the area at the time.

Detective Chief Inspector Andrew Packer of Camden CID said: "This attack has left the victim with serious, long lasting injuries. If you were out in the area of New Oxford Street on the night of Saturday 31 August or you were on your way home at around 03.30hrs on the Sunday morning, do you remember seeing two women arguing with three men in New Oxford Street at the entrance of Bainbridge Street?
