Are LTPH, The Best Licensing Authority In The Country? Or, Incompetent Deluded and Not Fit For Service.?

He who pays for the whitewash, decides where to paint it...

Are the staff at Palestra labouring under a mistaken belief that they are the best licensing authority in the country?

Dozens of drivers complaining that through mismanagement and incompetence, they are having their right to work taken away, because of hold ups in admin while waiting for license renewals.

New drivers are having to work without ID badges, because of a problem with their supply.

We've had scandal after scandal, from PH roundels and satellite office licenses given out like sweets... to fraud and corruption with a staff members arrest and subsequent court case.

In the last two years, we've  seen virtually no enforcement to protect the public from touting as LTPH publicly celebrated their first ever conviction for illegally plying for hire.
And it only took 13 years.

We've had a fifteen year age limit imposed on the trade, supposedly to clean up emission levels even though the Mayor knew, new vehicles are more polluting.
(Confirmed by Defra and Kings Reports)

Yet not a word in any trade media/publication, from the trade orgs that engage with LTPH on a regular basis

So that's how they've managed to keep the UTG quiet, there is another £25k seat on the board of TfL on the horizon.  No one wants to rock the boat ahead of the Law Commission report to Parliament.

Now there is a surprise...Deloittes' are recommending retaining a limited engagement with trade associations.

Wonder who throught that one up Leon?

How can this go on
What's happened to our representation
They take our money
And they take TFLs money

If another person from the Taxi Trade joins the TFL Board, that person should forfeit from pocketing £25k fee (if there is one) and put it into their union's kitty. Otherwise they will be seen to have been bought off, & their credibility will be about the same as Oddy's (but if they are like him the wont give a monkeys, anyway!)
Its amazing that LTPH that are as corrupt as a South American Police Force can get away with it time again, led by Sleasy Hendy!
IF it comes down to a vote McNamara's is going to be carrying the loot bag, as they have biggest membership. If the individual who wins TFL's Golden Ticket, does pocket the jackpot each member should be cancel their membership and put £20 a month away in a jar till they build up a nest egg in case they may need legal help in the future! Its Shocking that we can't trust our own representatives of the doing the right thing when the trade is in such dangerous waters! SWBOY

Without a publication you are wasting your time attacking the trades so called representatives - comments on a blog only reaches a small minority of the trade... The UTG have monthly papers with a circulation of around 20,000 + copies - This is how they keep their members - by keeping them in the dark and feeding them a heaped portion of "why you need our protection" and how the Mercedes Vito is a must buy !
Some have tried educating the trade with a small amount of success...

The bottom line is the average cab driver is a gullible mug - TfL know it, and the trades parasites know it too !

They are compromised. A person cannot represent you whilst pursuing their own personal ambitions.

As for TfL thinking they are the best licensing authority in the country, all I can saw is that some people need assessment under the Mental Health Act.

Apart from the stand down kings, marshalling mob and wannabe board members I have yet to meet a WORKING cab driver that think's TfL are even halfway near as good as the old PCO.

They call us 'Challenging Stakeholders' that is corporate double speak for awkward bastards.

Well Mr Leon (Olympic Lanes) Daniels, They are spot on there we will keep challenging, questioning and exposing the truth.

But stakeholders never, We are licensees and the world has voted us the best over and over, NOT YOU.

Publications.

Well the RMT now has pages always in the independent press and maybe the UCG news will come out again.

Don't discount this blog nad its effects. I am sure the editor could show you enough solicitors letters from those exposed to prove its a great tool.

You may be right that most drivers are apathetic, You bet when the Law Comm drafts its bill they will wake up and hopefully so will the UTG membership.
